Head Chef, David Whyte, "Born and Bred" in central Scotland. David developed a taste for cooking and eating hearty food from some of the most respected chefs in Scotland 'like his Gran'.


Learning the basics here he moved onto Falkirk college which led him into Stakis Park Hotel where his rough talent was shaped and set a base for him becoming senior chef in well respected hotels such as The Grange Manor in Grangemouth, The Black Bull Hotel in Lauder, The Granary Restaurantin Leith and the most challenging so far, our infamous Cross Keys Hotel.  At the tender age of 30 he is proving to be one of the most imaginative, passionate chefs that Scotland has to offer and will deliver a high class culinary delight for whom ever may cross our door.

Now having been in the Scottish Borders 5 years he has a taste for local hearty produce and supports our farmers as much as possible, sourcing only the best the Borders has to offer, which can be seen within the menus here at the Cross Keys Hotel.
